Players are already loving Astral Chain for Nintendo Switch

Looks like another hit from PlatinumGames Inc.

For many gamers, today is a wondrous day — Astral Chain released on the Nintendo Switch. It’s currently a best seller on Amazon as well as the Nintendo eShop. What’s more, it has raked up positive reviews across the internet from fellow gamers and professional reviewers alike. That’s not too surprising given that the game was directed by Takahisa Taura of Nier: Automata and supervised by Hideki Kamiya, creator of the Bayonetta series. Because of that everyone has expected greatness from this game since it was first teased. It looks like for most people, it hasn’t disappointed.

Along with many other fans, I got a copy of the game this morning. So far, I’ve been blown away by the visuals and the unique combat style it offers. I love that I can control both the main character and the Legion at the same time. It allows for some unique attacks that I’ve never seen in other action games. I’ve even handed a Joy-Con to a friend and we’ve…

Your iPhone can help you through Hurricane Dorian with some advanced prep

What apps and websites do you need to track hurricane season? How can your iPhone help? Here’s what you need to know!

By mid-September, hurricane season is in full swing. With Hurricane Dorian, predicted to be a Category 4 when it hits the East Coast this weekend, there’s no better time than now to bone up on some of the best ways to keep current on what’s out there and how to stay safe if a storm comes your way.

And just like with everything else, your iPhone now play an integral part with that.

I’ve lived on the Gulf Coast my entire life. I’ve been through storms and God willing, I’ll never go through another. Either way, I’ll be ready. Let’s take a look at a few ways you can be, too.

Websites and apps

If you only use one website for tracking tropical activity, it needs to be the National Hurricane Center’s (NHC) site, found at www.nhc.noaa.gov (they’ve got a mobile version, too, if you’re into that sort of thing).

I also recommend Weather Underground’s site, too, and t…

A guy created custom laser-etched Apple Pencil case for fun

What you need to know

An Apple Pencil owner created a custom case for his iPad accessory.
He designed and rendered it himself.
Then he used machinery to sandblast, lathed and mill it.
A simple DIY project for his trusty Apple Pencil.

One of the best things about Apple products is the imagination they ignite in customers. We already saw it earlier this week with the long list of unique customized AirPods Apple highlighted in an ad, and now we’re seeing it with an Apple Pencil user’s DIY project to keep it safe from unwanted scuffs.

Reddit user furdonut posted about his journey to create a prototype for an Apple Pencil case. Though he doesn’t provide much backstory for his reasoning, we assume he did it to protect his first generation Apple Pencil.

As for the case that he rendered himself, it was sandblasted, lathed, milled and etched with a laser. The whole project was quite complicated and produced a truly impressive case that houses the Apple Pencil.

He poi…

Jack Dorsey, Twitter’s CEO, had his account hacked

His account was tweeting racial slurs.

What you need to know

Jack Dorsey, Twitter’s CEO, had his account hacked.
Twitter says it’s ”investigating what happened.”
The breach appears to have been done via an SMS service called Cloudhopper.
If you’ve been on Twitter this afternoon, chances are you’ve seen something about Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey’s account being compromised.

Dorsey’s account (@Jack) began tweeting random tweets on August 30, many of which were racial slurs and Nazi propaganda. The tweets were being shared with Jack’s 4.2 million followers for about 20 minutes, and at the time of publishing this article, they all appear to have been deleted.

It’s still unclear what exactly caused the incident, but it seems to revolve around a service called ”Cloudhopper.”

Cloudhopper is an SMS platform that was purchased by Twitter back in 2010, and it’s worth mentioning because all of the rouge tweets coming from Jack’s account were sent via Cloudhopper. As such, Jack’s actual Twitt…

Here’s how the US carriers are preparing for Hurricane Dorian

Hurricane Dorian is already impacting Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands as carriers prep response teams for Florida.

AT&T’s network is operating normally in Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands, where the storm has already passed. Response teams are preparing in Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Virginia, including the staging of mobile cell sites (including some drone-mounted cell sites) and command centers.

AT&T has also announced it is waving fees for going over on data for customers in the storm’s path in Fl…

All cards in Yu-Gi-Oh! Legacy of the Duelist Link Evolution card packs

Don’t know what character booster packs to get in Yu-Gi-Oh! Legacy of the Duelist: Link Evolution? Here are all of the different types of cards in every pack!

Yu-Gi-Oh! Legacy of the Duelist: Link Evolution is out now on Nintendo Switch, and with it comes access to over 9000 cards from the popular trading card game (TCG). But it’s not like you’ll get 9000 cards to start with — you need to spend time playing the single-player campaign to earn Duel Points (DP) to spend on booster packs.

But what’s in each booster pack? What’s a good pack to start with if you want to build a custom deck to use instead of the iconic Story Decks for each campaign duel? Fret not, fellow Duelists! We’re here to help.

I would highly recommend starting the campaign with the original Yu-Gi-Oh! series, and then going in order from there. Not only will you start with the basics (and then work your way up), but there are some good archetypes that you can get with just the booster packs from the original …

The image was reportedly found in an internal build of iOS 13.

What you need to know

A new image of Apple’s Tile-like tracker has been leaked.
The tracker will be integrated with iOS 13’s new Find My app.
The accessory will supposedly feature a removable battery.
Over the past few months, we’ve heard rumors about Apple developing a Tile-like device to find lost items. Thanks to a new leak, we have what appears to be a fresh look at the rumored accessory, along with details about its capabilities.

MacRumors allegedly got its hands on an internal build of iOS 13, which included an image of Apple’s new accessory. The circular tag (codenamed B389) will seemingly be white and feature an Apple logo in the center. The image matches an earlier leak from the summer.

Apple users will supposedly be able to attach the tag to a device and keep track of its whereabouts through Apple’s revamped Find My app. According to a previous MacRumors report, the Tile-like device will offer leashing an…
