Thunderbolt Displays in limited supply at Apple Stores ahead of WWDC

A new report claims that units of Apple's Thunderbolt Display are either in short supply or not available at all in a number the company's retail stores.
A spot check of Apple Stores in the U.S., for example, reveals that the Thunderbolt Display is available on a ship-to-store basis only at all or select locations in Albany, Buffalo, Columbus, Detroit, Indianapolis, Memphis, Minneapolis, Philadelphia, Phoenix, Pittsburgh, Raleigh, San Antonio, San Diego, Syracuse, and many other mid-sized cities and their surrounding areas.
This lack of supply for the display units could just be a shipping aberration, but it could also signal that Apple is getting rid of its inventory ahead of a new hardware refresh for WWDC 2016. Given the fact that the Thunderbolt Display is now five years old, however, a refresh wouldn't be totally out of the question — particularly if it packs the same 5K resolution as the latest iMac.
