LG G6: The camera wars go wide

LG ditches last year’s modular gimmicks for this year’s solid features and a camera that goes wiiiiiiide.

With the LG G6, LG has dropped the gimmicks and set themselves on making a solid flagship phone again.

Alex Dobie, writing for Android Central:

[The] core experience of the G6 is flagship-class across the board, with a good-looking design, top-notch display, solid performance and battery life — and that’s complemented by a surprisingly great camera setup with some really fun features. The G6 isn’t exactly cutting edge in every area — LG tells me it deliberately isn’t playing the spec game this time.

Even so, its success is going to depend on its price tag, especially when you consider the Galaxy S8 is just a couple of months away. And should it be priced within striking distance of the Samsung flagship, it may be a hard sell for LG.

I love how mobile cameras are getting so much attention — and making so many advances — lately. If you’d tol…

BlackBerry KEYone: For the CrackBerry faithful

BlackBerry is back. The keyboard is back. Even CrackBerry Kevin is back!

BlackBerry is now exclusive a software company but TLC — the same company that makes Alcatel — is releasing all-new hardware under the BlackBerry Mobile brand. That might sound complicated but the result is simple: BlackBerry KEYOne.

And yes, our very own CrackBerry Kevin was live at MWC in Barcelona to MC it.

I’m sure Kevin has 150,000 review with 47 videos and 19,000 photos on the way but, in the meantime, here’s what Canada’s own Daniel Bader had to say on Android Central:

I’m happy to report that it’s actually quite nice. The aluminum frame is solid and the design is anything but pedestrian, with overtly curved sides meeting a flat-top frame and exposed antenna lines. There’s an old-school industrial feel to the whole thing that I really dig — the dual tones of black and silver work really well here, harkening back to some BlackBerrys of the past while updating the look for 2017….

Stab, slash, and saw your way through Slayaway Camp!

Slayaway Camp is a morbidly funny take on the puzzle genre that tasks you with going on a killing spree, and no one you meet is safe! Unfortunately, at Slayaway Camp it’s not quite a free-for-all when it comes to the maiming; there are cops, telephones, bookshelves, and other obstacles that get in the way of your homicidal tendencies.

If you’re having trouble getting through the scenes, I’m here to help. I’ll give you a breakdown of everything you need to know to get you back to your murdering ways.

Warning: Slayaway Camp is rated 17+ on the App Store, and the content below depicts scenes from the game, which could be disturbing to some readers. Discretion is advised.

5 games that are better on iPhone SE than iPhone 7 Plus

Some games play great on the iPhone 7 Plus, but some games are just better on a 4-inch screen.

Most games look fantastic on the larger 5.5-inch iPhone 7 Plus screen. The colors pop, there is more to see at one time, you can immerse yourself deeper into the action. When, however, you’re trying to play games one-handed, it is sometimes better to have an iPhone with a four-inch screen. If you are sporting the iPhone SE like me, here are my favorite games that play better on a smaller screen than on a larger one (that’s right iPhone 7 Plus users … I said ”better” — come at me!).

Pokémon GO
Super Mario Run
Sonic Dash 2
Temple Run 2
Doodle Jump

Pokémon GO

Don’t get me wrong. I think Pokémon GO looks fantastic on the larger screen. You have so much room to look at those adorable pocket monsters. But, for practicality, nothing beats a one-handed PokéWalk. The iPhone 7 Plus is too much machine for such activities. I want to open the game, swipe a Pok…
