In December of last year, Apple started to allow its customers to finance their iPhone with their Apple Card. When purchasing a new iPhone through Apple’s website or through the Apple Store app, you could chose to 0% financing with your Apple Card and the company would charge you monthly payments for 24 months.

The financing option was Apple’s first for its recently launched credit card and a new way to finance an iPhone outside of the company’s popular iPhone Upgrade Program, which requires a subscription to AppleCare. It appears, however, that Apple may be bringing financing options to Apple Card for more than just the iPhone.

On Apple’s earnings call for the second quarter, CEO Tim Cook had some notable numbers to report before launching into the company’s fiscal performance for the second quarter.

Cook opened the call by giving an update on the company’s efforts in getting personal protective equipment to medical workers across the world. The company has now shipped over 30 million masks and over 7.5 million face shields. He also noted that Apple continues to ship 1 million face shields ever week.

Apple CEO Tim Cook announced the plans in an interview with Bloomberg.
The company also plans to reopen some of its US stores in the coming weeks.

In the interview, Cook told Bloomberg’s Emily Chang that the company is planning on reopening some of its retail stores in Austria and Australia within the next 1-2 weeks.
