This $35 APC UPS can protect your electronics and charge them on the go

Keep your electronics safe and home and charged on the go!

Is this deal for me?

This APC Back-UPS Connect UPS with Mobile Power Pack is down to $34.95 at Amazon and B&H Photo. This has sold for as much as $80 in August, and the previous low we saw was $41 back in the beginning of September.

We’ve featured APC uninterrupted power supplies before. They’re strong devices for supporting any electronics that might be susceptible to a power surge or outage. This UPS has some of that functionality but isn’t really designed for full-on electronics management. Instead, it works best with low-power devices like phones, tablets, modems, and routers.

This one is also unique in that the ”battery backup,” which would provide any connected electronics with some extra time to properly shut down during an outage, can actually be removed. When it’s removed it functions like a mobile power bank. APC says it can recharge a phone 5 times before needing to be charged itself. With the battery remov…

You can now watch YouTube TV on your big screen with this new app

Youtube has finally released a native YouTube TV app for Android TV and Xbox One devices, with a version for Apple TV and Roku coming soon.

Back in April YouTube launched its new television streaming service YouTube TV, which offers live streaming content from traditional broadcast networks and several cable channels for $35 monthly. Originally, the only way you could watch any YouTube TV content was by using a Google Chromecast. However, today in a blog post YouTube announced that it has released a new native YouTube TV app built for a wide array of TV devices.

According to YouTube, within the next few days the new app will only be rolling out for the Xbox One family of devices, Android TV devices like NVIDIA SHIELD, and TVs with Android TV built-in, such as Sony. However, within the coming weeks other versions of the app will be released for smart TVs such as LG, Samsung, Sony, along with Apple TV and Roku.

Though you’ll be able to find the YouTube TV content you desire in the s…

Best iPhone photography printers

Now that Apple has made one of the best smart phone cameras in existence, it’s time to print out your masterpiece.

If you’ve upgraded to the iPhone 7 Plus, or more recently the iPhone 8 Plus or the iPhone X, you have, arguably, the best camera on a smartphone in existence. Some of your pictures probably look so good, you’d want to print them out and frame them. Guess what? You can. Here are the best smartphone-compatible photo printers on the market today.

Kodak Photo Printer Dock
Polaroid ZIP
Prynt Pocket
Canon Selphy CP 1200
Fujifilm Instax Share SP-2

Kodak Photo Printer Dock

Kodak’s latest photo printer pushes out high quality 4″x6″ prints directly from your iPhone. It uses some fancy-pants printing technology that I don’t understand to bring the most detailed image transfer from digital to physical. It prints your image in colored layers: reds, yellows, and blues, and then finishes the whole thing off with a top coat so your pictures won’t bleed or fade.

I absolutely lov…

Original iPhone reviewer Steven Levy just shared his thoughts on the iPhone X

Steven Levy was one of the first pre-release reviewers of the groundbreaking original iPhone. Now he’s at the smartphone apex yet again as a tester for the iPhone X.

Ten years ago, Steven Levy was a part of the original pre-release review group for the first ever iPhone. Now, Apple has given him a review unit of its new flagship device — the iPhone X — to see how it stacks up against its ancestor with respect to revolutionizing the smartphone game. He’s had the phone since last Tuesday, and he shared his first impressions of the company’s latest milestone in a field report for Wired.

According to Levy, the biggest change as compared to other iPhone models was its already-infamous screen:

The iPhone X is a big screen in a compact form factor — Cinerama in a phone booth. Though the device itself is only slightly bigger than the standard iPhone 8, its screen is roughly the same size as that of the iPhone 8 Plus. When you take into account its ”Super Retina” capab…

iMore Q&A with Alvios, Inc.’s Jonathan Schenker, creator of QuiVr!

QuiVr creator Jonathan Schenker answers our questions!

QuiVr is a single or multiplayer virtual reality game where you virtually take up a bow and defend your keep from an invading army of baddies. The sense of presence while you’re battling both ground and aerial attackers is truly astonishing. A must buy game on Steam VR if you’re a VR aficionado.

We reached out to Jonathan to ask him …
