You can use Sidecar with older Macs in Catalina with this Terminal trick

Sidecar is only meant to work with Macs from the last few years, but with a little Terminal trickery, you can get it up and running on an older Mac.

Sidecar is a cool new feature coming in macOS Catalina that lets you use your iPad as a second display for your Mac. In addition to a display, you’ll see some controls pop up on your iPad, including a virtual Touch Bar and a sidebar full of basic controls. You can even use your iPad as a Mac-connected drawing tablet if you’ve got an Apple Pencil, which lets you sketch something in AutoDesk SketchBook or edit images in Photoshop using a precision tool.

Note: This how-to guide requires familiarity with Terminal. If you don’t feel comfortable changing your Mac’s internal system, you should probably not perform this workaround.

Watch Jony Ive talk about Apple design 22 years ago

He had a full head of hair and a mustache. Yes, you read that right.

With the news that Jony Ive is moving on from Apple after nearly thirty years with the company, that got many people thinking about what he meant to the company. (Spoiler, a lot!) Ive was passionate about what design could do, and you see that when he gets on stage at WWDC back in 1997 to talk about it.
