Tweetbot for Mac adds support for quoted tweets, gets ready for longer direct messages

Tweetbot for Mac has hit version 2.0.1, bringing support for Twitter's new tweet quoting feature, while also laying groundwork for longer direct messages.

Tweetbot for Mac, which recently hit version 2.0, has been updated with support for Twitter's new tweet quotation feature. When you hit the retweet button, you'll be given the option to quote the tweet instead.

Also coming along in version 2.0.1 is support for longer direct messages, though this feature has not yet been enabled by Twitter. You can find all of the changes in the list below:

  • Support for new style quoted Tweets.
  • Support for longer Direct Messages (enabled by Twitter in the near future).
  • Fixed crash when typing @mentions in the compose window
  • Fixed crash when uploading a new profile image
  • Improved speed of account switching
  • Various other bug fixes

Tweetbot 2.0.1 is available for download from the Mac App Store right now.
