Just what is Apple TV+?

Apple TV+ is Apple's service that offers up originally-produced TV and movie content from Apple. Content is produced by the likes of Steven Spielberg, J.J. Abrams, Octavia Spencer, and Reese Witherspoon. Apple's push is to make Apple TV+ the premier destination for high-quality story-telling.

What sort of content is available on Apple TV+?

Apple TV+ features a slate of original content, from scripted series and movies to documentaries. There are original dramas like The Morning Show, See, and For All Mankind, as well as comedies like Central Park and Ted Lasso. Apple has also purchased the streaming rights for movies like The Banker and Tom Hanks' Greyhound.

Is the content on Apple TV+ family friendly?

Yes and no. Apple's service offers a variety of content for different age groups. There are shows and movies for kids, adults, and the whole family.

Viewers should be aware that much of the content aimed at adults often features adult language, graphic violence, sexual content and more, which won't be suitible for most children.

You can always set up parental controls for Apple TV+ using Apple's built-in tools.

How to I watch content from this service?

You can watch Apple TV+ in the TV app on your iPhone, iPad, Apple TV, Mac, and on Smart TVs, Roku, and Amazon Fire TV devices. You don't need an Apple device to use the service. Additionally, Apple makes TV+ content available on the web at tv.apple.com.

Including the United States, Apple TV+ is available in over 100 countries.

How much does the service cost?

Apple TV+ costs $4.99 per month, or $49.99 per year. This includes family pricing, which lets you share a subscription with up to six other people. Additionally, if you purchased a new iPhone, iPad, or other Apple device from September 10, 2019 onward, you can get Apple TV+ for one year for free.

If you've recently purchased a new Apple device, you're going to want to take advantage of your free year as soon as possible.

Are there any Apple TV+ bundles that I can get?

While there isn't a bundle for Apple TV+ and other Apple services, there is one for other channels in Apple's TV app. Apple TV+ subscribers can get an exclusive bundle of CBS All Access and Showtime for an additional $9.99 a month. Subscribing to this bundle will make both of these channels available to you in the TV app.

Normally, the CBS All Access channel costs $9.99 on its own and Showtime on its own costs $10.99, while Apple TV+ comes in at $4.99, for a total of about $26 per month. Using this bundle brings that down to about $15, unless you're currently using the free trial of Apple TV+, in which case that price comes down even further to $9.99 per month.
