The SteelSeries Nimbus game controller for the new Apple TV launches this October for $49.95

The new Apple TV set-top box will be able to play games, and the upcoming SteelSeries Nimbus game controller has been designed to offer gamers a console-like experience. The controller is due out in late October for $49.95 and it will be sold on Apple's website and in its retail stores.

While the new Apple TV will be able to use any MFi-based third-party game controller, SteelSeries says it has conducted a "lengthy and rigorous R&D effort" to create the Nimbus so it will offer players the best gaming experience on Apple's new hardware. Some of its features will include:

  • Rechargeable battery with 40+ hours of life for extended play
  • Lightning connector for rapid charging
  • Menu button for instant navigation
  • Pressure sensitive buttons for precise control

In addition, the SteelSeries Nimbus will also work on games using the iPhone, iPad and Mac devices.
