Apple has announced the rumored Studio Display, coming in at 27 inches and featuring a 5K resolution. And just like the Pro Display XDR, this monitor comes with a nano texture option for those who work in a bright environment.
Announced during the March 8 event and alongside the new Mac Studio, the new display features True Tone support and even comes with an A13 Bionic chip inside — yes, there is Apple silicon in this thing.
Sitting atop the display is a new 12-megapixel ultra-wide camera that supports Center Stage, the first time the feature has come to the Mac.
Studio Display brings a stunning all-screen design with narrow borders and a refined, all-aluminum enclosure that houses an advanced set of features in a slim profile. Its built-in stand allows the user to tilt the display up to 30 degrees. To meet the needs of a variety of workspaces, Studio Display also offers a tilt- and height-adjustable stand option with a counterbalancing arm that makes the display feel weightless as it is adjusted. A VESA mount adapter option is also available, and supports landscape or portrait orientation for even more flexibility.
As is the case with all good modern displays, the Studio Display comes with speakers — four force-canceling woofers and two tweeters to give the monitor support for Spatial audio.
In terms of connectivity, the new Studio Display features three USB-C ports and a single Thunderbolt port, with support for 96W of power via that port. That means the Thunderbolt port can fast-charge a 14-inch MacBook Pro, for example.
The new Studio Display starts at $1599 and can be pre-ordered today with deliveries taking place from March 18. Aside from the costly Pro Display XDR, this is now the best Mac display you can buy.
