Bitsbox teaches young kids to code

A subscription box that teaches kids to code!

Bitsbox teaches children the basics of JavaScript and HTML coding in a fun and interactive way. With a monthly subscription, you receive a box filled with various coding projects and sometimes interesting toys that are part of that months theme. Kids look through the material and can decide to work on any app they like ranging from simple to more advanced codes.

Intended for children between the ages of 6 to 12, Bitsbox has a near 50/50 split when it comes to girls and boys. Each child gets their own free account and that gives them access to the Bitsbox website where they can enter, debug, alter, and create their code.

These apps run in a web browser on a Mac or Windows PC or on an iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch. Once completed, kids can use the apps to share their creations with family and friends via a link or QR code.

My children, ages 7 and 10, absolutely devour ever piece of code they can get their hands on. They spend hours creating sharing and modifying games and apps they make themselves and get the pride in being able to tell family and friends what "functions" are, how a "loop" works and other fundamentals of coding.

If you want to give your little ones a big head start in the world of programming, check out Bitsbox.
