Twitter for Mac will soon get a dark mode, group messaging, and more

Twitter has announced that it will soon be making a substantial update to its native app for OS X. The update will see newer features integrated into the client, including group Direct Messages, along with photos in Direct Messages, native playback of video and Vine posts, and more.

As noted by Rus, co-founder of Twitter-owned Vine, the app will also be getting a dark mode.

Twitter didn't announce a release date for this update, though it is apparently still a few months away. The most recent update to the Mac app added the ability to send Direct Messages with more than 140 characters.
