Apple reportedly expands iTunes carrier billing support to Russia

Apple has reportedly added carrier billing support for items purchased from iTunes and the iOS App Store to Russia. The report claims that this new service, which allows customers to pay for items like apps, music, and movies via their monthly wireless carrier bill, started rolling out earlier this week.

According to CNBC:

In Russia, Apple is partnering with Beeline, the domestic unit of Amsterdam-based mobile phone company VimpelCom, according to sources with knowledge of the deal. On the payment information page within account settings, a user who chooses to pay by mobile now sees the following: "Mobile phone billing is available in Russia for Beeline mobile customers. A verification will be sent to you."

Apple has not yet commented officially on this new feature in Russia. Earlier this year, the company partnered with O2 to launch carrier billing support in Germany.
