AT&T enables Wi-Fi calling for international travelers with iOS 9.3

AT&T iPhone users can now take advantage Wi-Fi calling while traveling abroad after updating to iOS 9.3, the carrier says. AT&T has begun alerting eligible users to the change via text message, noting that calls to and from the U.S. while using Wi-Fi calling abroad will not incur extra charges.

With the latest software update for your phone you can use Wi-Fi Calling when traveling outside the U.S. This means you can call back to the U.S. or receive incoming calls, with no airtime charges. When you call international numbers, your rates will be the same as those in your smartphone plan or your international package.
AT&T first enabled Wi-Fi calling with the iOS 9 update for the iPhone 6 and later. To take advantage of Wi-Fi calling abroad, users need to update to iOS 9.3 and install the latest carrier update when prompted. If you're enabling Wi-Fi calling for the first time, you can do so by heading to Settings > Phone > Wi-Fi Calling and toggling the option on.
