Beyoncé’s new album ’Lemonade’ reportedly could be released on iTunes at midnight ET tonight

Beyoncé's new album 'Lemonade', which was released late on Saturday on the Tidal service, in both streaming and download versions, could also be launched as a download on Apple's iTunes as soon as midnight ET tonight.

The New York Times reports:

The brief window of exclusivity for Tidal reflects the growing complexity and fragmentation of the digital music market. For Beyoncé, whose every move is watched intensely by the music business, releasing an album comes with seemingly irreconcilable pressures regarding, on the one hand, managing her business interests and, on the other, reaching as wide an audience as possible.

Even though 'Lemonade' may be made available via download on iTunes, the streaming rights to the album will reportedly remain with Tidal. There are no plans to offer it on other streaming services, such as Apple Music.
