8 ways to celebrate May the Fourth, these are

It's May 4, which means it's time to celebrate Star Wars Day. We've put together a list of some Wookie-approved ways to celebrate. May the Fourth be with you!

1. Acquire a Sphero BB-8 Droid

Hang out with the cutest little droid this side of the Ghost Nebula (sorry, R2).

Not only can BB-8 patrol your house, respond to voice commands, and handle sand like a champ, you can also watch Star Wars: The Force Awakens with him! Check out iMore's own, Serenity Caldwell's video to see how he responds to the film:

You can win a BB-8 of your very own by entering our Star Wars Day contest.

2. Conquer some (discounted) Star Wars games

Apple's celebrating Star Wars Day right along with us.

The App Store features some limited-time discounts and in-app purchases for popular Star Wars games, including Star Wars: Card Trader and LEGO Star Wars: The Complete Saga.

You can scope out loads of other gaming deals on the Star Wars site.

3. Star Wars-ify your videos

Action Movie FX does what it says on the tin: The app adds action movie effects to your video. The app is free, and for $1.99 (a 30% discount), you can get a set of Star Wars effects.

This little video I put together shows BB-8 interacting with one of my dog's toys and popping out of an Apple Watch box.

4. Jabba Boska Bu Banda

Apparently that translates to something that sorta-kinda means "Jabba searches the band." But what we're really trying to tell you is to go listen to "Jabba Flow," the song that's playing in Maz's castle in Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

5. Watch Star Wars: The Force Awakens, you must

You obviously have to spend at least part of your celebrations watching Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Lucky for you (and us), it's available to rent in the iTunes Store.

If you're a physical media kind of person, then you should enter our Star Wars Day contest! Three people will win a Blu-ray copy of Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

6. I find your lack of Star Wars comics disturbing

It's as if the iPad (mini, Air, Pro) was made for comic books. And today's a great day to stock up on Star Wars comics, 'cause Marvel is having a one-day-only 75% off sale.

… there go all my credits.

7. Represent the Rebel Alliance … or the Galactic Empire

If you're not wearing some sort of Star Wars attire today, you're doing it wrong. There's no shortage of Star-Wars-themed shirts, hats, badges, masks, replica lightsabers, etc.

Heck, there are even Star-Wars-themed onesies.

I'm sorry you had to see that.

8. Be a force for change

Star Wars: Force for Change is a charitable initiative centered on the Star Wars fanbase.

If you'd like to support UNICEF, the American Red Cross, Boys & Girls Clubs of America, and the Make-A-Wish foundation, you can donate to the Star Wars: Force for Change initiative; the group is matching donations up to $1 million.
