iPad (6th generation): Everything you need to know

Apple's has just announced a new, low-cost iPad (6th generation). Here's what you need to know about it!

With Apple's March 2018 Education Event, the company introduced a new version of its baseline iPad. Here's what you need to know!

What's this iPad all about?

Apple's latest tablet is a sixth-generation 9.7-inch iPad. The big news with this model is that comes with Apple Pencil support.

Wait, Pencil support? I thought that was an iPad Pro feature

Yep, Apple's new iPad brings the Pencil support, featuring the full tilt and pressure sensitivity of the iPad Pro. Combined with the lower price of this iPad compared to the iPad Pro line, this lets more people get into drawing and writing with the Apple Pencil.

What are the specs of this new iPad?

The sixth-generation iPad is powered by Apple's A10 Fusion chip first seen in the iPhone 7. It gets the same 10-hour battery life that we've come to expect from iPads as well. There's also an 8MP iSight camera, along with Touch ID, and, on some models, LTE.

What's the iPad 6 price?

The iPad (6th generation) has a special pricing arrangement. While most customers will be able to grab it for $329, schools can get them for $299 a piece.

When will the iPad 6 be available?

The sixth-generation iPad goes on sale today, and will ship later this week.
