Instagram adds emoji support for hashtags, along with three new filters

Instagram is allowing emojis to work within hashtags as part of its latest update, along with adding three new filters for the popular photo sharing app.

Emojis can now be added to Instagram posts via hashtags, and users can tap on them in captions. Users can also search for them on the Explore page. Instagram says:

Over the past few years, emojis have become part of a universal visual language and nearly half of Instagram captions already feature an emoji. From today you can use a single emoji, multiple emoji, or combine text and emojis to make your Instagram hashtags even more creative.

The three new filters are labeled as Lark, Reyes and Juno. Instagram says:

Lark desaturates reds while punching up blues and greens to bring your landscapes to life. Reyes brings a dusty, vintage look to your moments. And finally, Juno tints cool tones green while making warm tones pop and whites glow for vibrant photos of people.

These new features should be available with the latest Instagram app update that will be rolled out out starting today via the iOS App Store
