You can finally record a Skype call on iPhone and iPad

Start a Skype call, hit record, a banner tells everyone they're being recorded, and when you're done you can leave it on the cloud or save it to your Mac, iPhone, or iPad.
Skype is adding call recording to its macOS and iOS apps, and that could be a very, very good thing.

Today, we're introducing call recording to help capture special moments in a Skype call with your loved ones or record important meetings with your colleagues.
Call recording is completely cloud-based and is now available on the latest version of Skype and on most platforms, except Windows 10. Call recording is coming to Windows 10 with the latest version of Skype releasing in the coming weeks.
It's worth pointing out Skype is a Microsoft company that supporting these features now on Mac and iOS but not until later on Windows 10. The world, it keeps changing...
As soon as you start recording, everyone in the call is notified that the call is being recorded—so there are no surprises. If you are on a video call, Skype will record everyone's video as well as any screens shared during the call. After the call, you can save and share the recorded call for the next 30 days.
This is nice for people on Mac who don't want to pay for a separate recording app. It's potentially transformative for people on iOS who, up until now, had no easy way to record a Skype conversation for things like podcasting.
It may not be ideal. "Cloud-based recording" sounds like it won't give you your local audio or separate tracks per caller. Just a mix of all parties on one track. But, it's potentially better than nothing.
A lot will also depend on quality and reliability. Both at launch and as the company iterates on it going forward.
As someone who sometimes has to podcast from the road, and has often wished I could just do it from my iPad, even my iPhone, this could be a first step in that direction.
