Tap your tunes into creation with the Roli Beatmaker Kit for iOS and MacOS

Roli's Beatmaker Kit combines two of its best products.

Aspiring music makers now have yet another way to bring their melodic ideas to life. Roli's Beatmaker Kit is comprised of its Lightpad Block M wireless controller and Loop Block, and is set to hit store shelves later this month on October 16.

With the Lightpad Block M, users can create and shape sounds with the force, speed, and movement of your fingers on its touchpad. It features colorful LEDs which light up as you play and opens up the ability to use samples by popular artists such as Grimes, Pharrell, and RZA in your mixes. Meanwhile, Roli's Loop Block helps to quickly record loops, replay them, set the tempo, quantize loops, and more. Playback controls are integrated too. Having the ability to do all of that with the press of a button helps shave off production time, and every little bit helps in that regard. Other Roli production blocks can be connected with the Beatmaker Kit too.

Roli's blocks are fantastic because you can use them with tons of digital audio workstations, such as Garageband and Cubasis. A six-month subscription to Roli's Melodics software is included too, which offers a wide array of tutorials to help you become more accustomed to your new production tools. It's important to note that while it does offer iOS app support, no Android support is available. You can however use it on either Mac or Windows PCs.

The Beatmaker Kit is set for release on October 16 at $299.99 via Roli's website, Amazon, and other retailers such as B&H. Considering the Lightpad Block M sells for $200 separately, and the Loop Block for $100, it's a simple way to get started with the ecosystem without spending anything extra.

Of course, there are more affordable options which can accomplish many of the same tasks, such as Novation's Launchpad and the Akai MPD218 Drum Pad Controller, though none of them are quite as interesting as this latest release from Roli.
