CarPlay hitting the road in 14 Chevy models later this year

GM's CEO has revealed that 14 Chevy models will come equipped with CarPlay when they debut later this year.

Mary Barra, CEO of GM, says that Chevy will introduce 14 new cars this year equipped with CarPlay later this year. This will allow customers to use several features of their iPhone in their vehicle. All of the cars will be in the 2016 model year, and will include Chevy's Cruze, Malibu, Camaro, and Volt lines.

From USA Today:

The partnership with Apple and Google across 2016 Chevy models ranging from the $15,000 Spark to the $55,000 Corvette is part of the automaker's efforts to make the tech available to as broad a consumer base as possible.

GM's MyLink engineers have been working with counterparts from the two Silicon Valley giants for the better part of two years to integrate a look and functionality familiar to owners of both smartphone operating systems.

CarPlay will give you access to features like Siri and Music, as well as third-party apps that have added CarPlay support. To use CarPlay with your 2016 Chevy, you'll need to have a device running iOS 7 or later.
