OS X El Capitan Gold Master Candidate now available for public beta testers

Apple has released the Gold Master, or GM seed of OS X El Capitan to members of the public beta testing program. If all goes well, this should be the final beta version of El Capitan before it releases to the public at-large later this month.

Appel quietly announced earlier today that OS X El Capitan will see a full public release on September 30. New features in the latest version of Apple's desktop OS include a new system font, a smarter Spotlight search, tweaks to the Mail and Notes apps, and much more.

Apple has begun notifying public beta testers with an email announcing the GM release, and you should be able to download it now by heading to the Mac App Store.

Thanks to John for the tip!
