TextWrangler 5 brings OS X El Capitan support, new Find Differences workflow, and more

Bare Bones Software, developer of Mac apps such as BBEdit and Yojimbo, has updated its TextWrangler text editor. TextWrangler 5.0 offers full compatibility with OS X El Capitan, a completely overhauled Find Differences system, and other enhancements.

TextWrangler 5.0 features a new Find Differences workflow that allows for more efficient single-window presentation in both file and folder comparisons. The new sidebar will now identify mismatched files, and make it easier to copy files. The app also has new syntax coloring mechanics to allow greater flexibility in color choices, and several included languages now have more color options.

There are new commands and editing gestures in for increased productivity. You can highlight instances of selected text for better navigation. Additionally, Bare Bones has made it easier to migrate from TextWranger to BBEdit, should you decide to do so, letting you import user preferences BBEdit automatically.

TextWranger 5.0 is available as a free download from the Bare Bones Software website, and the company also plans to make it available on the Mac App Store.
